Weihnachtsgedicht
When the last Kalender sheets
flattern through the winter streets
and december wind is blowing,
then is everybody knowing
that it is not allzuweit
bis she comes, the Weihnachtszeit.
All the Menschen, people soon
flippen out of ihr warm room,
run to Kaufhof or to Aldi
shoppen CD of Vivaldi,
kaufen this and jenes Dings
an the Churchturmglocke rings!
Manche holen little Tännchen
when it brennt they cry "ATTENTION!!!"
rufen for the Feuerwehr
"please come quick to löschen her!"
Goes the Tännchen off in Rauch,
they are standing on the Schlauch.
In the kittchen of the house
mother makes the Christmasschmaus.
And she knets and quirrls and bakes:
The Resultat are yoghurtcakes
Day by Day did so vergang
and the Holy Nights does come.
Then the childrenlein are coming,
Candle-Wachs ist abwärts running
Bing of Crosby Christimas sings
while the Churchturmglocke rings,
and the angels look so fine
weil it is the Christmastime.
Die kleinen pets all in the house
the Hund, the Katz, the bird, the mouse,
die tanzen round the Weihnachtstree
N'Joy the day as never nie
and they find a Dos' with Chappi
in a package from the Pappi!
Then they allzusammen sing
and wieder does the Glocke ring.

the Tränen runnen down & down,
weil Mutter crys, and alle hörn's:
